My maternal unit actually prefers quilting to crochet, so while I don’t do it myself, I do know the ways and means. So it’s natural for me to think of motif afghans in terms of quilting logic, and I’m experimenting with expanding that logic to log cabin-style afghans.
Yeah, it’s eight months too early, but it’s been on my mind since last Christmas. I was feeling festive enough to want a tree, but not festive enough to want anything bigger than a desktop-sized tree, and those are surprisingly hard to find. And the 4′ ones started at over $50 dollars are got worse as they got bigger. It was only after the holiday season that I had the time to dink around the Internet and find what I want. The hobby I’ve been more fully-assing over the last year or so is crochet. It lends a sort of karmic justice to the fact that my final form will be an old cat lady, but my sense of practicality objects to doilies and shit like that. I do mostly afghans.
